15 days post op radical hysterectomy/cancer - new here

Hi, I am new here. 28 years old, I have 7 children, 6 natural home births, last one was an emergency c-section. I have had completely normal paps every year, and 5 months post c-section was diagnosed with 7 cm small cell carcinoma tumor on the cervix. 2 weeks later I had a radical hysterectomy. It all happened very fast for me. I was not ready to lose my parts, but you have to do what you have to do.

The first 3 days really stunk, but 15 days post op I feel fantastic. I am READY to resume my normal activities. I had a laparoscopic surgery.

I am curious from others experience when you felt comfortable doing your normal things?

So far I haven't tried anything.

I have a 6 month old infant and am scared to pick her up yet. I want to take a bath, I want to go to the gym, I want to ride my horses and I want to take a road trip but I'm afraid of blod clots. And mainly...I want to have sex! I think I have more libido now than before LOL.

I do talk to my surgeon on a semi regular basis bugging her with questions....but I would love to hear real life experiences

Re: 15 days post op radical hysterectomy/cancer - new here

God bless you for what you've dealt with and for how you seem to be handling it all! A positive outlook goes really far! I had my LAVH on 6/6 and could drive at 6 weeks, ride my horse at 8 weeks, and have sex at 10 weeks. I was told no lifting above 10lbs for 8 weeks. Don't be afraid to question your dr on EVERYTHING. You may feel great but you only have 1 chance to heal so please make sure you take all precautions. Your dr is used to the questions, trust me! I'm glad you are feeling so well and I am praying for your continued great recovery!

Oh gosh...I started driving about 4 days afterwards...she said I could drive as soon as I quit taking pain pills. Haha!

I am trying to restrain myself on lifting and such...but I am SUPER active and it's driving me bananas.

Oh, yes, the boredom will drive you nuts! I'm glad you are able to drive and get out but please take it easy. Remember that it is YOUR pamper time so take full advantage! God bless!
