Bleeding..how come?

So I'm thinking about all the threads I'm reading about bleeding afterwards. I'm having daVinci and a total hysterectomy. If I'm having everything out, why would I bleed afterwards? Maybe just leftover blood in there that wasn't cleaned out during the surgery? Sorry if I sound clueless.

Re: Bleeding..how come?

I'm not sure which threads you are referring to, but as to the possible bleeding afterwards -- you may have trace amounts of blood or fluid for up to 5-6 weeks after surgery as your insides heal. If there is more than a trace or very small amount then there is a possibility something is torn or not stitched correctly or something and you need to contact your doctor or got to the emergency room.

Re: Bleeding..how come?

dcm712 and ladies,

Here's an article about Bleeding Post-Op .

I had bleeding for the first 6 weeks or so and my said it was normal for me, but you should always keep your doctor advised of your symptoms along the way. They know your situation best.
