Re: How did you spend the day before your surgery?
My surgery is June 19th, pre-op June 15th. I am taking the girls to get summer clothes Saturday so I won't have to do the rounds at the mall during recovery. We'll probably go to the drive-in movies Saturday night if they have kid friendly shows playing. Sunday, we are going to the zoo. The hubby comes home from Korea on Monday, so we'll be busy Monday night...lol. I am hoping to fill each and every spare minute so I don't start to worry...I'm doing good so far!

Ari'el
I am a hairstylist, and yes you should get your hair done (cut, color if you do) the week before surgery, remember the day of surgery, no gel, hairspray ect, it will stay fresher longer, ...I had a beautiful pedicure, a really nice treat (no polish) yesterday. helped me relax.
Good luck,speedy recovery.

Re: How did you spend the day before your surgery?
Remember to pamper yourselves before and after, I plan on relaxing and reading alot (something I rarely get to enjoy and yet love) I have loaded up my e-reader and have plenty of books around.
Nothing feels better than the first real shower after surgery, just think of it as " me time" we deserve that at least, treat yourselves and get a really nice shower gel , body lotion....if you are like me , the family/kids always come first, this week , it's all about me.

Re: How did you spend the day before your surgery?
My surgery is on June 18. The day before I will be making sure my comfy recliner and the end table nearby is stocked with things within easy reach (cell phone, iPad, NOOK e-reader, tissues, heating pad, remote control). Making sure fridge and pantry is stocked with plenty of "light" food items for first couple days like yogurt, juices, water, soups). Packing a small bag to take to hospital and relaxing with family. Spending some time on this site and wishing the sisters the best as they prepare for their trip to Castle.

I agree, spending time on this site has helped me pass the time, I can't sleep any ways....
Wish I had a recliner.....I am trying to keep busy.

Re: How did you spend the day before your surgery?
My day before I stayed off this site. Seeing my name in the best wishes made me nervous.
I kept busy withy family... I didn't have have a diet restriction. We watched movies, packed my bag, slept in late, and just tried to relax. I was super stressed so we never mentioned the surgery.
The few days before (thurs, fru, sat) i booked tons of stuff to do. Saturday was my cleaning day. Boy did that help keep the time rolling
I think the key for me was to not allow me down time to sit and think or research more on the Internet. I needed to trust that I had everything done and I was doing the right thing. Now that I'm post op, I know it was. Good luck!

Re: How did you spend the day before your surgery?
My surgery is on July 2nd, a Monday. On Sunday I have to do a bowel prep, so not much fun there except I'm bring some magazines from the office I never get to look at to enjoy in the "john". I do, however, plan to get my toes done the day before and get my recovery area all ready with things reachable (e-reader that will be charged and ready to go, remote, cell phone, ....). I'm thinking of buying some new loungy clothes and some soft socks/slippers to feel "special".
