Low Grade Fever & No Bowel Movements

Should I be concerned with a 99.9 low grade fever and NO bowel movements since the surgery? I am 2 days post op. My stomach feels full and gassy like I need to go but nothing is happening. I began collace when I got home from the hospital and I have been eating prunes, lots of water, soups, oatmeal etc.

Getting scared cause I read somewhere that you can't push because of the vaginal cuff thingy.

Any advice please help. I also stopped taking the pain meds and I am just taking tylenol cause I am afraid of prolonged constipation.

Re: Low Grade Fever & No Bowel Movements

My Dr said not to worry unless fever is over 100.4. I had a low grade of 99.6-99.9 from surgery until 2 days post op.
I was taking two colace at night and had trouble with my bowels - but felt like I needed to go. I finally had my husband buy miralax and took that the 3rd night Along with one colace. I was able to have a BM the next morning - but put a stool in front if the commode so I could put my feet up closer to my body and I held a pillow (or wadded up towel if I forgot to bring the pillow in with me) against my belly. Take a book or smartphone and try to relax.
I continued the colace every night. I attempted to stop it for a few days after the first week and had to go back to taking it.
Make sure you are getting enough water to drink and try to move around a little to wake your bowels up.
