Menstrual Cycle Question

Hi,

This might be an odd question, but a friend had a TVH a few years ago. She still thinks that she cycles.

I just had mine, and had a crop of zits break out on my face (just like it would happen before my period) I still have my ovaries.

My daughter and I would cycle together. Although, I would have two period a month, one of mine would correspond with hers.

She just got her period last night, the day before, I had the crop of zits flare up.

Is it possible, still having your ovaries to cycle like the other women in your house?

Thanks, Lisa

Menstrual Cycle Question

It's funny cuz I had everything removed and I still feel like I'm on cycle. Thank God for no period and sickness but I feel bloated and *****y, today as a matter of fact and this is when I would be due for my period.

Menstrual Cycle Question

yes, if you still have your ovaries and they are "working" you will still have a "cycle" each month - you will still ovulate and your body will experience all that goes with it, except for the period since the uterus is gone.

I am sure I was ovulating at the end of last week, because of the way I was feeling. I was a bit crampy but it only lasted about a day, maybe a little longer.

Puffletwookie,
I kept my ovaries too. I get to experience PMS (sore breasts, moodiness, cravings) but NO PERIODS ANYMORE!!

As the ((ladies)) have said above ~ if you still have your ovaries then you will still "cycle" since it's the ovaries that are responsible for that. I kept mine and my cycles (including PMS) are unchanged.

Menstrual Cycle Question

Oh no! My DH is going to be so horrified to learn that the PMS symptoms aren't gone with the uterus! HEEHEE!

I have thought that I was cycling, a little crampy but hard to tell since the surgery twinges are still there occasionally, and some breast tenderness and breakouts. Hey, I will take all that since I don't have to deal with the red tide 2X a month.

Menstrual Cycle Question

I had my surgery 12/07/07 and I can still tell when I am supposed to have my period because my breasts get sore. I was never on a regular schedule, but you know that feeling. I guess the ovaries are still doing their job, even if there's no uterus finish it out.

Menstrual Cycle Question

I have had one "period" since my surgery and I knew when it was happening because I too got the sore breast, crampy feeling, and a little grouchy. I thank God for ALL of those symtoms because that means my ovaries are working and I don't have to worry with HRT. I feel so much better since my surgery though, so I have nothing to complain about in the "period" department. Hope this helps!

Menstrual Cycle Question

I get the zits too - ugh!!!!! Sore boobs most months but not all.

But my PMS was never really bad, it was always the bleeding that stopped me in my tracks.

I'll take this over the bleeding any day !
