16 days post hysterectomy: 100 degree Fever for five days, should I worry

I am16 days pastop and am running a fever!! My doctor said not to worry if it is not over 100.5° it seems to be just under that at around 100°. This has been five days of this fever and feeling extra sore. Should i worry?

do you have a infection anywhere?

I don't know? I have extreme swelling and no appetite! But my outer scars are basically healed.

Just to be sure, I would double check, as it could get worse. Not saying it will, but a little extra reassurance will definitely help and if you do have the start of infection, better to start on antibiotics & stay well than to get progressively worse.

My scar is almost healed and the infection is a little higher up and now its absess last weekend it just burst. now they have to pack it and im on antibiotic I had a fever and chills and hopefully on the mend. pls get checked out it may not be the incision itself hugs

I had fever, chills a week post op. Had all kind of tests done and the source of the fever was never found. Still the doc prescribed antibiotics, first thinking maybe it was something bladder related and that did not work. She switched the antibiotics and immediately I began to improve. Go to the doc, something is off. They never could tell me why I had the fever and horrible chills and body aches (that made me cry) but whatever it was taken care of with the second round of antibiotics. Good luck!
