LAVH Post hysterectomy checkup

What can I expect at my first post op checkup? I had a radical lavh, Fallopian tubes removed and some pelvic lymph nodes removed. I will see surgeon on day 7 to remove catheter and do a "pee test"? Is he going to examine the vaginal canal and stitching? Just the thought of an exam right now is freaking me out.

Some docs do an external look only, others like mine do a very gentle internal - I retained my cervix, so I don't know if that played into it. Mine was at 10 days. It was uncomfy, but for me did not hurt. We also went over the pathology report and I had a chance to ask questions.

Remember what was freaking you out before your surgery? Just think about how you got through that. Stay calm, and no need to freak out about this.
