I just keep crying! Is this normal?

Hi.
I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Yes, I have become what my daughter says, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Mom says I don't know when I am stressed, so I tend to look it, and not know it. Then, I start complaining of odd aches and pains. But since I found this website, I am so happy to learn that what I have been feeling is normal.
The choice thing is interesting. For so many years I was at the mercy of inconsiderate or non-caring doctors and insurance companies, who never gave me a choice. Finally I was asked what I wanted to do. And finally I realized, all I wanted was to get rid of all of the problems.
Tomorrow, they will be gone. I have cried for the babies I will never have, possibly feeling old, hrt, not feeling attractive to any men ever again, the list goes on. But my mother had a TAH when she was only 30 years old. She is 65 now, and looks 35. She has been on hrt all of the time with no side effects. So, she's my testimony, and seeing her encourages me not to worry too much. She says it was the best thing that ever happened to her, and I believe her. Even today she is more physically active than I am, with no huge uterus blocking her movement. That's all I want.

So, try to smile and focus on not having to feel the pain of another tampon in the wrong position God Bless you.

I just keep crying! Is this normal?

I too, am freaking out! I was ok this weekend, as we were so busy with fun plans and other stuff.

Today, I have no real plans...just too much time on my hands and it is taking it's toll.

And to top it off...I am really hurting today physically. I suppose I should almost be thankful for that, as it reminds me why I am doing this!

Hang in there all of you. We are almost on the other side!

I just keep crying! Is this normal?

Valjac,

Boy, do you hit home when you talk about how much energy your Mom has.

I, too have a post-hyst mother. She had hers when she was 39 due to fibroids and hemorrhaging. She is now 64 and just kicks my butt with her vitality and energy. She also says it's the best thing she has ever done also. It really hurt when she had to come over and help me plant shrubs and hostas. This told me that I should not be afraid of what I am about to face. I also don't have much of a choice but to have this surgery. I certainly do not want to be anemic, have a blood transfusion, or even die. I love life far too much. I, too cry for the babies I will never have, but I also rejoice for the miracle of modern technology and the renewed life force that will shine within me once this over....

When we can relate to heroes like our Moms as living testaments, it's really the best comfort one could have....so is this wonderful website with all of the friends I've made.

Thanks again to all!

Take care,

Jackie
