Just wondering if you are all having hot flashes they start around 12:30 at night and continue off and on until the morning soaking the bed and not gettig any rest. Doctor called in a estrogen patch that I will pick up tomorrow. I am 4 weeks post op. Please let me know if you have any experience with hormone replacement. I am also very weak try walking around walmart with my daughter when I am up for any length of time I get weak and light headed. Thanks for your responses this site has been a life saver for me, it makes me feel like i am not alone going through this experience.

Help Hot Flashes

I too have been having problems with hot flashes and night sweats since my surgery. My doc left my left ovary, so he thought it was strange that I was having this happen, but he said that maybe the ovary hadn't "kicked in" yet, so he put me on HRT for 2-3 weeks to see if we can activate the ovary. I've been on the HRT for 3 days now and it is a HUGE difference. The hot flashes and night sweats are almost completely gone, which is WONDERFUL! Hot flashes are miserable. Not fun at all.

Did you have any ovaries left? I would ask your doc about HRT, even if it is only temporary. At least for me, I couldn't live with the hot flashes more than 1 week. I was miserable. Good luck.

Help Hot Flashes

I started hot flashes nearly immediately. It was even worse lying on a vinyl bed with vinyl pillows! I had my husband bring my pillow from home so I could at least have something breathable on my head and neck. I would wake up several times absolutely drenched. It took forever to get any HRT from my Dr. When I did, she said it could take awhile to really kick in!

I had these flashes before my surgery, but not nearly as bad. These are soaking and I end up freezing by the time I wake up.
