Re: Worried about long surgery time

I had an LSH, but not using the DaVinci method...so I can only report what I experienced. I was in the OR for about an hour and fifteen minutes. No complications.

Re: Worried about long surgery time

Steph,

I have to agree with the other women here. I have had several surgeries (tubal, gallbladder, tonsils, ablation) and also been under for dental surgeries. In all of them the feeling was the same. I got the medication, whether via IV or injection, and felt much more relaxed almost immediately. Kinda like I just didn't care. I remember them telling me I was going to go to sleep, in some occasions they put an air mask on me and I breathed deeply. They said count backwards from 10 so I did, and I never remember getting past 7 or 8. Next thing I know, I'm waking up, no memory of anything and they are done. NO realization of time passed or anything else, just waking up with grogginess and this feeling of "are they done yet?" and being assured that yes, they're done.

Doesn't make it any less scary though. I still get worried and I still get scared, but that's also part of it. Remember that we are here and thinking about you and we'll be here when you wake up. Best of luck, see you on the other side!

Re: Worried about long surgery time

You'll be here when I wake up---I like that! I have less than 12 hours till I have to be at the hospital, and they can't go by soon enough. I'm really bloated and uncomfortable (fibroids) so that's a good reminder of why I'm doing this.

Thanks again! See you on the other side, too.
