2 days to go

This week seems to be going very fast. I have only 2 days to go before my op.

I am now 95% mentally ready. Last week helped as I got my last ever period and the pain and heavy blood loss put everything into perspective.

However, naturally I am worrying about the actual op and the recovery. I know that operations are a lot safer today, but I suppose it is only human nature to be scared.

My husband and daughters are being very supportive and I know without them I would probably be much worse than I am.

Sorry for rabbling but it is good to be able to put down my feelings.

For those who are going in today or tomorrow, my prayers are with them and for those who are in their recovery stage I hope that everything is going well.

Good luck

Sharon

Best wishes for an easy stay at the castle and a speedy recovery! Be sure to ask for something if you are nervous when you go in for surgery. It is very normal to be a little scared. No matter how prepared I am before surgery, I am always restless the night before and antsy until I get into the pre-op room. Also ask for a warm blanket from the nurse. Warm blankets are very soothing.

((( Sharon ))), I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for an easy surgery and good recovery.
I'm glad that your family is being so supportive - that helps a lot. Let them really pamper you.

Don't fret. You will be fine and you will be posting here to let us know that you are home and recovering! I agree, ask for something for nerves. It helps. I am an anxious person so I can remember being kind of cheerful as they wheeled me into the operating room! Good meds!
We were all in your shoes and this too will pass and you will be on your way to a better life!
Good luck.

Thanks for your replies. They have given me lost of courage.

I am certainly going to print the flyer about this site and give it to my consultant when I see him on Friday. So that he can pass this on to other patients that he sees that are in similar situation to me.

I really think that this site is good.
