Re: Last Period

Hello Ladies. I started this tread just before surgery and it has been pretty popular. Sounds like I was not the only one with these feelings. Since the surgery, I am feeling pretty good. It has been 1 week at this point and I am glad I am done with periods. Every time I see an Always/Kotex/Stayfree commercial I say "Thank GOD that is over". Good Luck Ladies.

Re: Last Period

I am so glad I found this site! I thought I was the only one dealing with this. My surgery isn't scheduled until March 30th.... I found myself thinking one more period to go. I get so embarrased running to the bathroom every 40 minutes to change my tampon & pad. I can't even sit through a church service without getting up to leave and pray that I didn't leak and everyone would see. Even the nice underwear comment I can relate too. Every pair I own is stained.

Re: Last Period

Hi ladies! I am 18 days post LAVH and just want to forewarn you to not get rid of any pads just yet... I went for 2 week post-op two days ago and Dr forwearned me that over the next couple of weeks I may experience bleeding and even possibly pass clots as stitches inside dissolve and clots loosen up. Lo and behold today I was driving home and started bleeding- and when I got home I passed a silver-dollar sized clot. Called nurse just to verify and she was very reassuring and said it was perfectly normal.

Since I am still in the recovery period, even this does not bother me nearly like what dealing with the periods did- since I know this is part of the healing process (and I can't have sex yet anyway!) and it WILL all be over soon. It is still nothing like a period- after the clot, the bleeding is down to pink spotting and that's it.

Not trying to be a downer- I am actually feeling quite positive and happy about my recovery overall- just wanted to make sure you still have supplies handy during your post-op recovery.

Take care!

Amy
