still alot of vaginal pain 3 weeks post op and very emotional

Hi all, this is my first post so we will see how i go.
i had a vaginal hysterectomy 3 weeks ago along with a vaginal repair due to a large prolapse(overies remained) and id like to no if others are still in as much pain as i am this long after? i have alot of vaginal stitches and quite alot of stomach pain and alot of people seem to think i should be fine by now and im not sure what to think? im also very emotional and was under the impression this would not realy happen as i retained my overies i am sure i am rambling a bit but there is realy no one i can as ask as my mum has passed, my sister is gay and they are realy my only female relos.
i hope someone can put my mind at rest and maybe i can tall hubbie im not just a little lazy

Re: still alot of vaginal pain 3 weeks post op and very emotional

Hi you just had two major procedures performed during the surgery 3 weeks ago. Your body needs a chance to heal. Initial soft tissue healing takes 6-8 weeks. I'm sure with your repairs you have a lot of swelling which contributes to the pain you are experiencing.
Who feels you should be better by now? Why do they think so? What has your doctor said to expect?
Are you taking good care of your self? Resting? Avoiding bending, lifting ect?
I'm unsure why you feel you can not speak to your sister. Even if she is gay she still has 'girlie parts'. Have you tried to speak with her?
Please do not be so hard on yourself. Maybe you can try a cold pack or hot pack to help with the pain (if MD OK's). Are you still taking pain medication? If not maybe you need some to get the pain undercontrol. Are you taking motrin or tylenol (if allowed). Other ladies have posted alternating can be helpful.
Try to rest and lay down frequently. As you say it was a large prolapse so the pelvic floor muscles are likely stretched and weak. Give them a chance to heal and then strengthen.
Has your husband read mister hyster article?
Hang in there
