Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

It sounds like you have it under control now, but I wanted to share that, after my emergency c-section in 2000 (I was 42 at the time), I had a bm problem and finally pushed real hard, only to discover shortly thereafter that something oblong was slightly protruding from my vagina. We rushed to the doctor (substitute, because my doc had gone out of the country!) and he pushed "it" back up inside me (and not very gently I might add!) and said it was my bladder. I will say, though, that I was able to sleep for at least 4 hours each night after that without my bladder waking me! Before then, I was up every hour of the night! I'm glad you got things taken care of!

Kelcortez-Good I am glad bc I know just how awful you must have felt. I have never really struggled with constipation my problem has always been the opposite. Good luck in your recovery and I wish you the best!

Wow that sounds very familiar bc the way I described it was like an oblong shaped egg that was protruding out and to me it really looked like an organ had fallen down. Has that ever happened again and how are you feeling now? I hope all is well!

Hi Roseptls. Your description is 100% spot on - only a fleshy oblong egg. And according to the sub doc I saw, that's what he said it was, the bladder. I'd had a c-section and was constipated afterward and ended up panicking because I was sort of "stuck" there on the toilet, so just PUSHED ... HARD. I've never had the problem since he shoved it back up. The issue of frequent nighttime urination crept back up over the years though (since 2000).

So now I'm two weeks in to recovering from a TAH and that was the first thing that crossed my mind. Needless to say, we ran right to the store and got MOM. Two weeks in, I'm still having problems some with moving things on my own. I stopped taking the pain meds a day or two after I got home, since I knew they cause constipation. Didn't make a difference, except that I've lived with the pain.

But now I'm having really bad gall bladder pain. Went to ER yesterday and they saw nothing. So I'll go for the other test thingy hopefully this week and will ultimatey have it removed, since it's been a problem for 17 years now. The pain is a real annoyance and I never know when it's going to hit. So I'm getting a little down now, knowing that I'm going to have to go back into the hospital and endure more needles and more gas (which still has subsided from the hyster!)

Anyway, we ladies need to be very careful in how hard we push our bowels - it's a lot about breathing IN and letting nature do the work for us - we just need patience.

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

I am so sorry that you are having this problem and I hope you get relief from this soon. On top of it all you are still recovering from the hysterectomy so I know this must be so hard. I feel we definitely experienced the same thing and hopefully we never have that problem again and I agree with you that we have to be careful with our bowls and just try to let nature take its course. Good luck to you and please keep us in touch on how you are doing!

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

Don't get to see gall bladder doc until next Tuesday, which means hida scan will come later, as will surgery. Still staying slightly nauseous so not eating much. Will keep y'all posted. What a great bunch of Sisters!

My Doctor suggested Miralax (or the generic equivalent). Its a powder you mix with liquid (I liked apple juice) and drank once a day. It worked very well for me!

Thanks for the tip I will have to try that. I haven't tried the powder yet but will check it out. Thanks again!
