Is this Normal?!?

I had a TVH on Friday and I'm still in pain, the pressure down there is unreal and I'm nauseous if I take pain pills, and usually end up getting sick, but I'm nauseous if I don't take them. My whole body is shaky. I can't sleep, can't sit, it still hurts to pee, is all this normal. My mother and mil seem to think something else is going on and that I should call dr?! What do you think? I'm not taking pain pills, cuz it hurts when you get sick, a lot.

Re: Is this Normal?!?

Fep call your doctor! Don't hesitate to call, that why we pay them. If your pain pills are making you nauseous and you are getting sick when you take them, your dose may need to be adjusted. Whatever the case, call your doctor. You and I had surgery on the same day, and although I have some gas discomfort I am not feeling much pain. That doesn't matter, because pain is pain. Please contact your doctor and let us know how you are doing!

Re: Is this Normal?!?

Definitely call the dr. At 6 days post op I was readmitted to the hospital with an acute kidney infection. You can get an adjustment on your pain meds if you tell them about the problems. I wish you luck and hope you feel better real soon!

Re: Is this Normal?!?

I agree, Call the doctor.... If your pain meds aren't controlling your pain then you need to look at taking something else. You don't have to suffer there are plenty other pain meds to use. Have you tried gravol with your meds.... sometimes I have to take gravol with mine because it upsets my stomach. You could have an infection as well and that needs to be looked after!!!!! Don't ever be scared or worried about calling the doc.... Let us know what you decide or how you make out!!

Re: Is this Normal?!?

The pain you're feeling is totally normal, but you do need to call the doctor for a different pain medication since you are not able to take the one you were perscribed. You'll be in pain for a few more weeks, you're gonna want to take something!

Good luck to you!!

Re: Is this Normal?!?

Glad you called the doc. I was allergic to an ingredient in my first pain meds, and they changed them before I came home. I could FINALLY sleep.
