Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

A couple of weeks after my operation, I've been feeling a light pressure in my vagina - not a pain, just a feeling like gravity letting me know that I've had something done. Would more exercise help? I've been doing small walks, but wonder if longer walks would help.

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

I'm curious about this too. I had a TAH BSO on Aug. 2nd, and I've noticed the pressure mostly when urinating. But, yes...sometimes when walking too, almost like when you're at the end of your pregnancy and you feel like your uterus will fall out....only I don't have mine anymore. LOL

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

AT two weeks I had this too - to the point where I was afraid to walk thinking the TOT had failed. I had doctor check it out and turned out I had a vaginal infection plus extreme vaginal dryness. I have been on Cipro for the infection and premarin vaginal cream for the dryness and feel much improved. I notice that when I am tired or have walked a lot or been on my feet a lot I still feel some pressure. My post op is Aug 25 so will definitely ask about it then. Maybe when we get tired the vaginal tissue swells and feels like pressure.....sort of like swelly belly for the vagina!

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

LOL That's probably what's wrong with mine....we celebrated our youngest daughter's birthday this weekend, and me being hard-headed.....HAD to help with the cleaning and food shopping. I didn't do much, but I'm sure that didn't help. I rested all day today, and haven't felt it so much.

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

I too feel this pressure and I'm 8 weeks post op. I sometimes feel something is trying to push its way out. Like someone mentioned it's just pressure not really pain. Does anyone know if this feeling is normal. I was concerned that my bladdar had dropped or something. It's just a weird feeling I've not been use to.

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

Hi UKfanforever. I have the exact same feeling. I have been assured by doctor that the bladder is fine and no prolapse is in there. But I still feel that pressure or full feeling when I have been walking a lot or carrying anything. I see doctor for 5 week post op next week and will ask about it again. I am thinking it could be swelliing and stitches healing....hope so anyway!

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

I have had this too, and it scares me that things might not be "staying up there." It's why I had the hysterectomy in the first place (uterus was falling out), and why I had the additional procedure of the sacrocolpopexy. The success rate of my surgery in preventing further prolapse is supposedly 97%, but somebody's gotta be in that 3%! I hope it's just a little swelling...

Re: Light Pressure Feeling in Vagina

I saw the NP this morning for that issue. I'm 16 weeks postop today, and over the weekend it was driving me crazy- no pain, just annoyingly there. She said I have a very slight rectocele. She gave me an RX for estrogen cream- she said that might help.

I was afraid I'd need a pessary, but she said she wouldn't recommend it at this time. I've actually not felt it all week, and feel really good.
