Swelling feet and hands

I had the surgery on April 18. My hands and feet are swelling if I get up for a while. I took a shower and it happened. Is this normal?

Re: Swelling feet and hands

I had my surgery back in August. My surgery took much longer than expected, 4 hours total. Because i was under anethsia for so long, my body was very swollen for days afterward. They told me at the hospital it was perfectly normal. The swelling did go don, it got better a little each day, but I don't remember how long before I "looked normal" again.

Re: Swelling feet and hands

Thank y'a'll! I called my doctor and she said it's normal. She said increase my water intake. I should drink 4 bottles of water a day. Also she said because I'm an active person I should increase my activity. I did both today and have felt wonderful!
