I'm going in tomorrow - can't believe I'm not freaking out

I've lined up backup for my family, told the neighbors, have my list read to pack my bags and lave lots of knitting ready to do as I recover. I feel like I *should* be more freaked out, but I'm glad I'm not!

Please wish me luck on my surgery tomorrow morning at 9:15 EST. TAH/BSO and perhaps part of my cervix, too - we'll see...

I hadn't told my next door neighbor until a few minutes ago - she had one 20 years ago and has echoed the sentiments of so many women I know - it was the best surgery they ever had! I hope I have the same positive outcome!!

I have to say that in the midsts of so much negative stuff happening and confusion we did just get a lovely black standard poodle puppy (11 months, almost NOT a puppy) and he's the best thing to happen to me this year! What a wonderful gift he is, my big Atticus, and how much I"ll love recovering with this lovely doggie next to my bed!

good thoughts

Hi, Annie,

That's super that you are feeling strong about tomorrow. I think we have a built in mechanism that keeps us that way when we need it. It has always been my belief that women are powerful creatures and can endure what is put before us.

I wish you the very best and a smooth trip to the castle!

Soon it will all be behind you!

Good luck. I know you will be home hugging that big puppy soon. How nice to have something soft and cuddly to recover with. I know my Cassie and Maggie will be right there when I need a hug after my surgery too.

From one Jersey girl to another, I wish you all the luck and know that my prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. I don't have my date yet. (you know how insurance is in NJ) I think that is the worst part for me. Not knowing if it will get approved or not. When you are feeling up to it, post and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone - I will let you all know how it goes!!

My husband has a sore throat and his mother's over to stay with the kids for the next few days. She was fussing over DH "Did you take your medicine? - Did you take a MOTRIN?" and he commented that right now I was the one who had the bigger health worry.

MIL looked me up and down and said, "Oh, SHE'LL be alright!" Then to my husband, "Do you want some hot tea?"

My DH laughed and laughed about it after she went to bed. I guess a baby son is always a baby son!
