first "period" after?

I've tried searching, but can't find this exact question.

I had my davinci surgery on 1/14. I had my uterus, tubes and cervix removed but kept ovaries. I've had some off and on bleeding and discharge, but today would have been my period and sure enough, I have cramps AND fresh bright bleeding.

WHAT?! What is this from and how does it even get out if I had my uterus AND cervix removed?

I know I'll still have period-like symptoms, but wasn't expecting increased bleeding.

Re: first "period" after?

Hi! It sounds like you are early on in your recovery. My spotting lasted up until the six weeks of recovery. It was not bright red though, and I did not fill up a pad. Sometimes, with increased activity, the bleeding may increase. I know that when this happened, I would sit down and put my feet up and it would lessen. The hospital discharge instructions mention that if you are bleeding bright red and filling up a pad then you should notify your doctor to make you all is ok. Please be patient with your healing it takes time, and that can be difficult for many of us. Keeping you in my prayers. Please keep us posted.

first "period" after?

Hi Dear,
I had my da Vinci TH the day after you and I've had heavy bright red spotting in the discharge almost every day. I read it should stop around 4 weeks and if it doesn't, call your doctor. We're almost there!
