Re: Follow up questions

My first and only follow up was 5 weeks and 2 days post op and went back to work 5 weeks, 5 days. Originally they had my follow up appt scheduled at 7 weeks because my Dr was to be on vacation at 6 weeks. Like in your case, I was supposed to go back to work at 6 weeks (my Drs standard amount of time off and therefore the amount of time I had cleared with work), and needed the paperwork done BEFORE I could go back to work (that was a work requirement). So, I moved my appt up to meet the requirement. I had my appt with her phys assistant. I really liked her too, so I was comfortable with that and all was good! Good Luck!

Re: Follow up questions

My follow up will be close to the 6 week mark. But I did ring my doc with questions yesterday due to a less than adequate hospital check out, and they stressed to phone with any questions I have prior to the appt.

Yes, yes, yes! You should never hesitate to call your doc with questions. Being given a date from a post-op appt does NOT mean that you should sit tight and wait until that date despite whatever comes up.

I was advised to call my doc or report to the ER if I experienced:
- Drainage or bleeding from my abdominal incision;
- Burning urination and frequent urge to urinate;
- Fever, aches and pains, chills, dizziness;
- Nausea and/or vomiting.

I was advised to report to the ER (i.e. don't waste time calling doc) if I experienced:
- Heavy, active bleeding from the vagina or abdominal incision (bright red blood, heavier than menstruation);
- Inability to urinate or empty my bladder;
- Opening of the abdominal incision.

Re: Follow up questions

I had a check up at 2 weeks and I go back for my 6 week next week. I'm a little
worried about going back to work cause I'm still having pain and a lot of pressure like a bowling ball is inside my pelvic area pushing down. So I think it all depends on the person and how well they are healing
