help need advice :protecting my lower part

I work in a nursing home I do a lot of heavy letting and pulling. Its been four months since I had surgery. I had my uterus taken out. I would like to keep the rest of my organ that I have I try to be extra careful so I don't hurt myself. I still find my self with sharpe pains that come from me working with my patients. My boss told me to wear a tummy control to keep my stomach tight so I want tear or pull nothing. This hysterectomy has so much side effect to your body even when you doing good. I want to protect my body. Now my uterus is gone I'm trying to careful. Is there something I can wear round my stomach? Help need advice.

I use a 6" wide Ace bandage, just wrap it around and tuck it in. You could buy something fancy with Velcro but this works for me. It hurts too much to walk otherwise.

Re: help need advice :protecting my lower part

Also might think about buying a good "back support" type of brace. You see them all the time in the construction industry or wherever someone needs good support and reminders to bend and lift wisely. Also thankful for 3 years of BootCamp, as my arm, leg & torso muscles were able to pick up some of the slack when my abdominal muscles were so sore. If you haven't already got one, find a workout group that will let you go at your own pace and an instructor thagtt can give you advice on building strength in your lower torso. Your local parks & rec would be a good place to start looking.
