day two post hysterectomy, feeling sick

I had a robotic assisted total hysterectomy Tuesday morning. Apparently it was more difficult than the doctor thought it would be and took an extra two hours. I also came home with a catheter that will be in for two weeks. I haven't been able to eat much at all and have felt nauseous all day. I don't know if that's because of the pain meds and no food or something else. Any advice?

Re: day two, feeling sick

Hi Natlay

Congratulations on having your surgery all behind you now - welcome to the other side.
I was in the hospital for 4 days and 4 nights (had a TAH which left me with an 8" vertical incision) and during that time for sure, I did not feel like eating and I was experiencing nausea. I get the feeling that taking medications on an empty stomach didn't help matters. Once I got home and started to at least snack and make sure that I ate something with my meds, I started to feel a whole lot better. Don't worry, things are going to improve.

We are all here for you, keep us posted.
Take care
