Went to church too soon/3 weeks 2 days TAH/BSO

Just to help others decide whether they are ready or not to attend church. I decided to go and went to Sunday School through Church service leaving the house at 9am and getting home at 12:45.

It was too much. I think I took something for pain. I did go to bed, woke for lunch prepared for me. Went back to bed and only got up for a snack. I slept through the night with all that rest too.

So, when it comes to going to church, you might find this info helpful.

NOTE: This was not my church so I felt obligated to stand when others stood and such. No one knew I had had recent surgery. I also had to find my daughter to assist her through the maze of where to go and be for each part of service. This may have added enough stress and work that if I had gone to my own church, might not have been too much.

I called my church and they bring me communion every saturday night, will keep doing so for another week or so. I haven't been cleared to drive yet and hubby is not christian, which is a source of some stress for me. but thats another post entirely.

yes sisters please take good care when recovering we only get one chance to do it right.

My church also offered to bring me communion, but I have been feeling well enough to go to services....

Our services are 3 hours also. 1-4pm. Was tinkering with the idea of going, but will be about 9 days post op of tah. Thanks for input. I'll wait till the next sunday to go, even though I am sure it would be nice to be uplifted

I attended my first service, post-TAH on Sun 7/27, not Sunday School though. Came home and took a nap and went back for evening service which was a gospel concert.

I'm in the choir and we had the month of July off anyway, so we all resumed singing on Sun 8-3. After this one I went home, skipped lunch and went straight to bed for a looooooong nap I did get back up and go to evening service where we sang again.

I'm getting there !!!

We had practice tonight for 1.5 hours and I handled it pretty well, actually better than my 15 yr old son, who's been at marching band camp all week in the hot sun (part of the time) and playing new music for at least 6 hours a day - he had to come with me because he's in our orchestra as well, so he had to play ANOTHER 1.5 hours on top of it !!
