right side pain 2 weeks post op

I felt so much better last week. This week I have the worst pain under the incision on the right side. It is the side that I kept the ovary. He removed the other ovary. Could it be because he had to stitch it to something. I was off all pain killers, but now I have to take some again. THe skin is so sensitive there too.

I started having the same type of pain. It started on Friday. Almost like a burning, pinching sensation to the right of my incision. IF I pushed on it, the pain let up. Started wondering if it was a hernia. Saturday, I had a few things to do but did them sitting down most of the time. Then we went to a function at the church. I sat a lot of the time. Today, I spent a lot of time with my feet up but the pain has continued to get worse. In talking to a few nurses at church they said it couldn't be a hernia. This afternoon I took an oxycocet but it didn't even dull the pain. Just looked at myself in the mirror. The right side appears swollen. More pain meds. Think I will be calling the Dr. in the a.m. Just sitting here in bed and the pain comes in waves and stays in the same general area.

Let me know what your dr. says. Today my pain was a little better, but it came back around noon, but not as bad. I don't have a lump, but it is so sore to touch. I have a dr. appt on Wednesday for my two week check up. I am taking half a Vicodin only twice a day for the pain, so it is not so bad. I wanted to be off all meds by now, but I guess not. It helps to lay down, but I can't stay in bed all day!

Well, the Dr's office is closed till Tuesday. Might check with my GP.

Hello there, I had the same type of pain on the same side. I had kept both ovaries. I was fine right up to the 2wk post-op appt. How convenient to get the pain the day before a doctor visit? So, I asked my surgeon at that time why I had that pain. He wasn't too concerned because it was only on one side and he felt that if it was on both sides I may have an infection. He told me not to worry and that it would go away. He suggested I just take it easy for a while. Amazingly the pain did go away the very next day. I hope this helps. If your pain continues or spreads, I would recommend you call your physician and let him/her know. Best of luck to you and don't forget to pamper yourself.
