Re: Hysterectomy

I had multiple issues prior to my hysto. Uterine cancer, pcos, adeno, and endo and I was in pain daily. According to my gyn/onc my hormone levels were through the roof.
Since my surgery(1 year Aug 28) I've been diagnosed with and have to be medicated for diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
I'm still in daily pain (bowel issues) feels mostly the same as before. Not sure if I regret the surgery, I don't miss the horrible and painful periods but sure wish I wasn't left with all this other stuff.

Re: Hysterectomy

No regrets here. My periods were getting longer (10-12 days) and I had times when I was changing tampons and pads hourly. I am not doing HRT due to family cancer history and due to blood clots in the past. I am only taking lots of vitamins. Starting having hot flashes and night sweats two weeks after my surgery. They have seemed to have peaked and am not currently having hardly any. Another nice benefit has been no more PMS. It had dominated my life for over 40 yrs. I was ready for menopause at 54.
