very emotional and crying post op 8wks

Hi,

I am 8 wks post op. I had a TLH with ovaries removed. I was feeling ok. Night sweats not too bad and hot flashes not too bad. But I am very down. cry alot. very sad. I am trying not to take the hormones. I don't want to go on them and have to go off when the Dr. says and go through this again Has anyone else experienced this. Is it better to go on the hormones and go off? :confused

Re: very emotional and crying post op 8wks

Sounds like hormones too me. Mine kicked into high gear 3 weeks post op. The first prescription I got didn't seem to help and they changed it to estradiol patch and it has been a life saver. I feel great now.

As for going off them, I know from reading here that many ladies have been on them for years. My Dr. said as long as I have my mammograms when I am supposed too and a physical and everything checks out ok I can stay on them, which I plan on doing if need be. Hope that helps some.

I understand...the hormone thing can be confusing. I have been doing ok the last week, but the 2 weeks before, I was an emotional wreck. I did not want the hormone replacement either, but I changed my mind. I am hoping to feel "normal" again when I start them...
