Scared Silly!!

I was diagnosed last month after dealing with alot of pain and embarrassment . Changed doctors (thank goodness) finally someone that listened to all of my symptoms, ran the tests and put it all together. I was so mad and tired of being told that I was young(33) and should weigh a lot less, that if I just lost weight all my problems would go away. Well, the results took me for aloop.But not knowing,was alot worse. Been reading messages and trying to make up my mind if I can do this?! Since I don't know anyone personally who has had a hyst, this site really enlightens me. Thank you all for sharing your aches and pains, concerns. You have brought to light several questions I need to ask my doc. I will have my biopsy on 7 July.All believers please say a prayer for me,k?

I'm glad you found this site, it has brought a lot of comfort to a lot of women! I too was pretty scared at the prospect of having a hyst, but I was also tired of living my life around my uterus! You don't say in your post what your symptoms are, you just say pain. I had a total vaginal hyst, left one ovary. I had adnemyosis, (deep bleeding in the uterus), fibroids, endometriosis and a prolapsed uterus. I tried uterin ablation and found releif for about 5 months. I had the endometriosis cleaned out, but it came back! I researched a lot, talked to people who had been through it, and prayed a lot too! Thankfully I have a great DR who has been very supportive. It is not an easy decision for anyone, in the end, only you can choose. I am 6 weeks post op and I feel pretty good for the most part. I still have days that I am so tired all I want to do is sleep, but I know that in the long run, I will be free of the pain that I lived with for so long.
I will say a prayer for you, know that all the princesses here and the ladies in waiting are all super! There is always someone that has felt just as you do and can relate!

Hi. I just saw your post and had to reply. I am having a hyster in TWO DAYS!!! I live in Weatherford Oklahoma for only 10 months and we are from Wichita Falls!! My husband has lived there all of his life until now and all of his family still live there. I lived there 15 years. We moved to Oklahoma 10 months ago because my husband is attending pharmacy school here. I just want to say, you are not alone. I had a biopsy last Friday. Will find out results at surgery. My surgery is Wednesday near Oklahoma City. I am having a total hyster, bladder sling and vaginal wall reconstruction. I am so nervous but this site has been great. You are not alone!!
