vaginal itch

I am loosinig my mind with itching. For about 10 days I've had a horrible itch - no discharge, no lesions - nothing but the itch. I have tried all types of OTC creams, etc. I wonder what others have used that has worked? I am going nuts. . . I can hardly sit. . . .. . .HELP. Date of surgery 2/15/2005.

I had the same problem just last week. I went andbought monistat cream and used it twice a day. it cleared up with in two days. I switched to a new scented Dial soap(lavender). Have you changed anything lately. I hope this helps.

I'm on a 30-day course of antibiotics and have been battling the same problem. I thought it was weird since I was also having no discharge. Finally had the DR do a culture, which confirmed it really was a bad yeast infection. He prescribed the pill (Diflucan) which is supposed to do the trick with just one dose. He said to take one pill, wait three days and take another if not better. Then wait a week and, if necessary, repeat. After the first round, I've managed to knock it back to a tolerable level. I'm saving the second round for when I finally finish the antibiotics.
