TVH rectal pressure post op 8 days

Hi, just wondering if anyone else has pressure in their rectum when they sit down? The abdominal pressure is getting better but the rectal pressure kind of catches me off guard!

I am sorry you haven't received an answer to your question but I don't remember having rectal pressure, then again, I did not have the same surgery as you. It might be best to contact your doctor and ask him or her. Get back to us with what you find out.

OK. I am actually surprised nobody has experienced that discomfort. It feels like gas is trapped inside the rectum ... then when you sit on something flat, not particularly soft, you feel this pressure up inside like a quick sharp pain. Hmmmm, well I will let you know what the doc. says. Thanks.

I had DV surgery yesterday, and they've been pushing me to walk. I noticed that rectal pain/pressure also.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one, but of course I'd rather you didn't know what I mean...if you know what I mean, lol! Good luck with your recovery, 11 days post op for me and am doing well so far.

I had the davinci on the 12th. I had severe rectal pains when trying to pass gas and the first few bms were very painful also. I still feel those stabbing pains sometimes when I sit for a while even on softer seats. I'm hoping it will go away soon. Those stabbing pains come out of the blue and have embarressed me in front of some of my visitors. Good luck and keep me posted on what the dr says.

What causes the stabbing pain? I described it as someone shoving a knife up my vagina and turning it. The nurse was startled by that description.

Yes, I have had quite a bit of pressure in that area and posted if anyone else had because now it had turned into bad hemmorroids, which I rarely get. I do eat plenty of fiber, drink lots of water etc., But the pressure stayed around for a good five weeks after my op, then it seems to disappear. I hope all works out for you too and you get rid of it soon. I assume it has to do with healing as things have been moved around in there. Good Luck with your recovery and remember to rest

Yep, I get that pressure/pain. I do have fissures and hemorrhoids. Not sure if it's from that or if it's just intestines filling in the empty space.

I'm relieved to find these posts (I think?). I'm 3.5 weeks post LAVH and yesterday it started to become painful to sit on something hard. And it feels like there's some pressure there. I've never had hemorrhoids before and I haven't been constipated or straining. But I'm figuring that its probably internal hemorrhoids? Also today I think I have a little itchy bump. ARGH. Does anyone know if this is a chronic thing for post hysterectomy patients or will it likely pass since it hasn't troubled me before?
