questions about keeping cervix

Liila, I too worried about ruining my children's summer and had my surgery done on March 29. All kinds of testing couldn't disclose why I had so much pain and such heavy bleeding with clot passing at least 5 days every month. Due to cervical, utirine, and ovarian cancer in my maternal grandmother, I had the doctor take everything out. I cannot tell you how much my quality of life has improved! I have my hope back. My middle son is going to be a senior next year and I won't have to miss anymore of his soccer or basketball games. No more missed field trips, or even just simple dinners out. My mother, who is one tough cookie, complemented me on how well I've done with my hysterectomy and we both decided it was because I had such a positive attitude going in - I was desperate to get well! It has been over 5 years since I could say I felt good. Now I can honestly say I feel great. I have my life back. I'm only 40; it was too soon to throw in the towel.

Oh, when they did they hyesterectomy they found endro and fibroids all through my uterine muscle.

thanks for all the feedback. i go see my family dr tomorrrow and she is the last opinion i was hoping to get. i like th idea of keeping my cervix and will definitely talk to my dr about the cauterization.
