Re: down right moody!!!!
((Big HUGS)) sweetie. I know that it's frustrating. Your body's been through a lot. Your hormones are still trying to balance themselves out and sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to get back in order. When we keep our ovaries, we just don't expect the hot flashes and mood swings to effect us, but it does for a while and it throws us for a loop. I didn't have the mood swings, but the hot flashes drove me crazy, but it did get better. Now I'm just cold all of the time, but overall this was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
You can always call your doctor and see what he suggests. It will give you piece of mind.
Hang in there Melissa, it won't always be this way.

Re: down right moody!!!!
Hi Melissa,
At three weeks, I was in a very similar "boat" that you are in right now. What you are feeling is normal. I think it had a lot to do with my hormones. I am guessing you aren't on HRT?
I was on HRT for a couple of years prior to my surgery. My doctor took me off my progesterone at about that time and I think that contributed to it along with trying not to overdo it (I am used to doing for myself and being on the the go). Hot flashes also hit me. Although I was still on the Vivelle Dot, my body was gong through the shock of surgery and the abrupt halt of progesterone. I had all of this going on, so I can certainly sympathize with you on feeling moody and out of sorts. I called my doc about all of this and she said to go back on the progesterone until I the 6 week checkup. I went for that checkup this past week and she said to wean off of the progesterone slowly so that the mood swings and hot flashes would minor to possibly none. So far, so good. You might want to call your doctor and see what he or she says about all of this. Just hang in there, as this all will pass before you know it it. Take care of yourself and put yourself first. Hugs

Re: down right moody!!!!
You are so not alone here. I cry all the time. I feel so sorry for myself sometimes I want to just hide from the world. I am on day 10 post op and have my ovaries too. I had also taken progesterone for 14 months prior to my surgery and had to go off it because it just was not working, thus the surgery.
hang in there..although this is so awful feeling this way, we are not alone. I hope that helps a little
