no bowel cleansing

I thought we would all have to have a bowel cleansing......not me so that was good news. I do plan to take a laxative once I get home though so it will be easier. I have only a few hours to go....plan to take a hot bath (remember no oils or smelly stuff like normal) shave myself, take several deep breaths and final prayers. I know that this is a good thing and that with sooooooo many other women having the same thing for years and years I will be a trooper too! Good luck to all going in at the same time and after............again, see you on the outside!!

I did not have to do a bowel prep either!

I didn't need a bowel cleansing before surgery, just relax and prepare yourself physically (eat small portions, lots of fibre and drink lots of water)and emotionally for the after....

Ugghh I did. It was awful and my family had quite a few laughs with m over it!

To me the bowel prep was one of the more awful parts of the surgery. I had such a hard time choking the stuff down. Seriously was absolutely horrible and I never want to go through it again.

My doc says he only has about 20% of his patients do prep. The ones where there are reasons to be concerned that they may need to take out more than just a typical hysterectomy. I was one of the lucky ones.
