No Date: TAH to be scheduled...Scared..Preop in 3 days..Help!!!

I guess I got lucky with my gyn. She told me that because of my adhesions the only hyst she'd be able to give me herself was a TAH. In the same breath, she then immediately referred me to one of her colleagues in the practice that does da Vinci. I'm seeing him on Thursday. I think I'm more scared of the robot than I would be of a TAH. I've had abdominal surgery before. I've had traditional laprascopy but I've gotta tell you, the robot kind of creeps me out.

Phenyx, I'm with you on the robot...a little too "Star Trek-ky" for me. It's not available where I live anyway; but I can't imagine having such an intricate procedure performed by a robot. Maybe I'm showing my age and resistance to technology.

Ya'll my surgery date has been scheduled for 10/12. I am ready to get it over with.

I just don't like the idea of doctor sitting at a computer while robot does surgery. I am sure it's perfectly fine, just not for me. And it's not available anyway here, but I wouldn't have done it if it had been.
