Day after tomorrow...I'll know one way or another.

Hey ya'all,

Did my pre-op yesterday. I'm getting excited to get it overwith. The waiting has been long.

So, it looks like if I wake up with bandaids on my belly, I'll know I don't have cancer. If I wake up with a verticle incision, I'll have something to worry about.

Saw the oncologist this week. He is assisting, unless a malignancy is detected. In that case, he will do whatever he needs to do while he is in there.

My dr finally gave me a booklett on LAVH, complete with big color pictures. Very helpful. Wish I had had that weeks ago.

Later, Donna

Hi Donna, take a deep breathe and try to relax. Waiting is really tough, I still remember. My tah/bso was 3 months ago - doesn't seem possible. The 6 weeks I waited for my hyst was much longer than that LOL. And please don't panic if you wake up with an incision - sometimes they end up doing incisions for reasons other than cancer (like they need more room to work) . So hang in there , I'll be praying for your oncologist to remain an assistant! s

Dear Donna,

(((Hugs))) to you. I'll be praying for you today, tomorrow and through your recovery period. I'm glad your wait is almost over - yes. If you do wake up with a vertical incision/or an incision, just remember, sometimes they have to do this in order to get stuff out easier. My doctor had a tough time getting out stuff, also. I did know I was going to have an abdominal hysterectomy ahead of time, though. There can be several reasons for the incision - it just makes the surgery easier, sometimes, plus the doctor can check around the marginal areas as well. God bless, be thinking of you tomorrow. Keep us posted as to how you're doing.

this is my opinion;always get medical advice from a medical doctor
