7 Week Post Op DiVinci - Puss coming out of Belly Button

Hi Ladies,

I am 7 weeks Post-Op and have had nothing but complications. Yesterday I came home from work and discovered that my belly button was not only super red, but swollen and "leaking" clear stuff. I called my doctor's office right away and explaind what was going on. They put me back on antibiotics again and told me to keep it cleaned out with hydrogen peroxide and water mixture.

This morning I woke up and it's now a yellow/green color, called my doctor back and she scollded me that I should have called the other day when I noticed the irritation. Not to wait until Friday at 5:30 pm to call them. Well 3 days ago it was doing this and I didn't notice the "leaking" until I got home yesterday to change.

Now I am thinking that I am being a big cry baby about this, but I am scared since I have had nothing but complications and a sever infection to begin with.

What should I do?

Are you still on anti-biotics? It isn't quite clear to me if you talked to your doctor today. If you did, then just keep doing what she told you to do. You should start seeing some improvement in a day or two. I also had a minor infection and I was put on Keflex. Two days later, the pus stopped and the pain was gone. The incision healed in about 10 days or so.

Dear Kiiki,
Please don't hesitate to call your Dr as much as you need it, especially if you have signs of infection. You have the right to be scared, its your body! I'm glad you are taking antibiotics! Hopefully that will be enough, but if you feel worse and your Dr is not available better go to your ER.
Good luck!
