Had radical hysterectomy on Oct 26

Since then, I feel like something is not right with my rectal area. When I have a BM, I feel like I am experiencing incomplete evacuation. I still feel rectal fullness and when I wipe even an hour after a BM, if the stool was soft and mushy, there will be stool on the TP when wiping. I have to wipe excessively. There is only fecal leakage after a BM and a sticky and pasty BM, not with hard stools or liquid stools.

The nurse practitioner two weeks ago at my surgeons office examined me and said she didn't see a rectocele but she also didn't thoroughly examine the area, she did look though and didn't see one.

Could my surgeon have cut nerves in the anal/rectal area? Is this common to have after hysterectomy? Are these weak muscles that will get better or could I have some damage that will stay?

I never remotely had issues before my hysterectomy with evacuation. It's ever since the surgery was done.

Hi ClevelandSports,

I would suggest you ask for a referral to a specialist. Not sure if that should be urogynecologist or what but it sounds like you need some answers.
