Wellbutrin for Hot Flashes?

Has anyone had success with Wellbutrin for hot flashes? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy at the end of this month and cannot take HRT. I know Effexor is useful for hot flashes, but I was hoping not to switch meds and I'm already on Wellbutrin. Thanks!

Re: Wellbutrin for Hot Flashes?

I also take Wellbutrin but I do have little hot flashes. I'm three years post-op and noticed the hot flashes starting last summer, along with night sweats. I'm not taking HRT but trying to use natural herbal remedies like Black Cohosh. I would love to know if my Wellbutrin will keep these symptoms from getting worse! In the meantime, I keep a fan on my nightstand for help cooling down so the night sweats won't keep me up all night.

I've been on wellbutrin for the last 5 years. I didn't stop the wellbutrin for the surgery. They said it wasn't necessary. I started with hot flashes and night sweats 3 days after surgery. They didn't stop until I started on comibpatch at 2 weeks postop. So in my opinion, the wellbutrin has def. helped keep me on an even keel, and prevents depression, but does nothing for hot flashes and night sweats.

Re: Wellbutrin for Hot Flashes?

I think you'd have to use a serotonin leveling product to help with the hot flashes.
