I had a TVH, cervix gone ovaries still in place and starting to wake up--man these hot flashes are killing me! I am feeling really good other then that.

How long did you wait to have intercourse?

Hi, I had a check up at 3 weeks and my Dr. said I was healing nicely and I could go back to work and to wait 4 MORE WEEKS for intercourse! I had a TVH with posterior repairs and kept my ovaries. Maybe I have to wait so long because of the posterior repairs. I am a little envious of you but I understand not feeling ready if you still can feel stitches. My Dr. never gave very good limitation instructions to me, like don't vacuum or mop or anything like that. I quoted the restrictions off of this Web Site to my family as my excuses for not doing the things that I knew I shouldn't do. If I were you, I wouldn't tell Hubby until I felt very ready. Good luck!

How long did you wait to have intercourse?

At my 4 week check the Dr said to wait until 6 weeks. One week later I found out I needed to have a second prolapse repair so DH and I tried things out at 5 weeks 3 days since we won't be able to for another 6 weeks after the surgery. Took it slow and easy and all is good.

How long did you wait to have intercourse?

I was released at 5-1/2 weeks, but I think we waited until right around the 7 week or 8 week mark. Until then, we just weren't ready -- and my incision was still open in places so it was a little "weird" that way for us.

How long did you wait to have intercourse?

I had TAH&BSO and waited till 6 1/2 weeks . no problems whatsoever. I could tell that i no longer had a cervix but my husband thought it felt exactly the same. It was lovely to be intimate again and the enjoyment was at least as good as it was pre surgery
