Going back to work? (update)
Hello and thank you ladies for all your information - i have been reading your posts and have learned so much from you!
My question is regarding my going back to work next Monday. I generally feel pretty good but am nervous about going back to work. If i have more activity i get pretty bad bleeds (it doesn't take much for this to happen!!! simply walking across a parking lot does it!!).
I have a very high stress/high activity job and may ask the boss to work from home for week 5 and 6 of recovery to avoid messy situations back to work.
Any suggestions ladies or experiences you could share about this?

Going back to work? (update)

Has you doctor cleared you to return to work? If you can stay home up until week 6 please try as the initial weeks of healing are vital for a smooth recovery.
I hope some other ladies will be along soon who can relate. Will you let us know how you get on?
Take care!

Going back to work? (update)
I agree with pooodle 100%
I go next Tuesday for my 6wk check-up and I'm scheduled to go back the follow Monday to work. I going to see about taking another 2wks off because the job that I do I know I'm not 100% ready to go back full time and I don't want to take 4 steps backwards with my healing. You only get 1 chance to heal without any complications

Going back to work? (update)
I return on Monday and I am scared to death but I will go into combart (work) with support panties, support hose, pantyliners, medication, and change of clothes. I will start off with my cute, form-fitting outfit and if the enemy (sweely-belly) appears I will have a back-up outfit. If I have prolems with work I've been told already if I need to go home early then that would be fine. Just afraid that I will forget everything related to job.

Going back to work? (update)
I worried about forgetting everything while I was out, but it didn't really matter because half of it changed while I was gone anyway! It all worked out just fine. I went back at almost 7 weeks and was REALLY tired the first week, but it gets better with time.

Going back to work? (update)
I can't imagine going back to work so soon after surgery, this is my 6th wk after TAH, my follow-up will be Nov 12. I work at a busy Airport, and have to travel for 2.5hrs to and from work, (at times when most normal people are still asleep or are just coming home from partying). Imagine the trauma of another 8hrs on top of that, don't know how I'm going to manage it, I still get exhausted from just walking 2mins to the park and back. Dr has sent me for some blood work as I nearly had to have a tranfussion after the op (I spent 7days in hospital), he has given me another 4wks off.
Please don't go back too soon no job is more important than your health and wellbeing.

Going back to work? (update)
I think you have to listen to your own body healing as well as your doctor's advice. Don't be afraid to go back to your doctor and ask for more time if you think you need it. I had my LAVH a week ago and I am going back to work in a week and a half (doctor's recommendation). My job is quite stressful but can be at a desk if I need to stay still for a while! Fortunately I work very close to home and have already negiotiated with my assistant to drive me home if it all gets too much.
Take care of yourself and try not to overdo it.

Going back to work? (update)
Have you spoken to your doc about the bleeding you're still having? I would definitely do that, and ask for additional time off if needed. You only get one chance to heal correctly. Keep us posted!

Going back to work? (update)
My Dr was really good about giving me time off. She said she usually gives her patients a standard 8 weeks, rather than 6, but as that will bring into the christmas run up she has signed me off until 2nd Jan.
If you need more time, don't be afraid to ask for it. No one is indispensible, and as someone else said, you only have one chance to heal properly.

Going back to work? (update)
Thanks everyone and sorry i took so long to reply. I did actually go 'back to work' from home on my 5th week. I wasn't really bleeding that much but wanted to be at home just in case. Just being on long conference calls and having to be of high energy took a lot of out of me. I didn't really think my doc thought that 6 or 8weeks was necessary and I didn't argue. I was going broke watching QVC and shopping online so i needed to go back to work anyhow!
I really started feeling better at 8-10weeks and now that it has been just over 3 mos I feel so much better EXCEPT for lower back left side pain around and above my hip. What is that??? It really is very achy. I think I am going to call my doc and see what it is. Could it be my ovary that is left inside??? Help?
Thanks ladies and Happy and Healthy New year!!!!
