oh my oh my, my four wheel drive!!

I thought this would give some of you a chuckle. In all of my preop fears and anxiety can you believe that I am very upset that I will have to PARK my big, bad (and brand new) four wheel drive truck post op because I won't be able to pull myself up into it!! What a crazy thing to be worried about huh? believe me I have many more worries but I thought I would post this as a chuckle. I LOVE MY TRUCK !! I have even though about buying a two step step ladder that I can use to get in and out , a few weeks down the road of course.... have a good day everyone and I love this site, it has turned into a great place to find piece of mind and lots of positive people in such a scarey time in my life, thank you all!!!

Exactly the same thing happened to me! We bought a new 4WD the week before my surgery and it was many weeks before I could travel in it following surgery. It was just that bit tooooo high to climb up into!

I am because my husband bought me a new truck 2 weeks ago and I won't be able to use mine either. Isn't funny the things we worry about? To cap it all off, it's finally getting nice around here and I wanted to ride my new ride without it being covered in salt! So when I'm recovering, I'll get to see dh and dd's (who will be on spring break) take off in my truck, sun shining.....

Girls and their trucks! I got mine for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it is MY baby! Good luck to you!! My DH thinks I am kidding about the step ladder, but as soon as I can maneuver well enough I am taking it back from him.

I had to laugh about your post. Mine isn't a new truck (I've had it since 2001), but I drive a Dodge quad cab, 6.5-liter fuel injected Cummins diesel with a 6-speed manual transmission. I bought it to haul my horse trailer, but it's also my daily transportation to work. My doctor's eyes widened a little when I told him about it, and that's when he told me to expect not to go to work for 4 weeks if I was going to have to shift gears in the truck!

Thought I would chime in, not even thinking about driving, Ihave a 15 passenger E 350 and have to lift the youngest of 7 into( she is2 years old) , then my self!!
SO much for that idea!!

Yea, I guess my Chevy Tahoe will be out of the picture for a while too..and same thing with me, my dh and kids on spring break will get to enjoy it.. watching them pull out of the drive..how sad.

My dh carried a 2-step ladder in my "monster truck" for me to get up inside and down. It was really funny for everyone to see him spoiling me like that!
