3 weeks out and still HURT

Hello all, I am seeking some support and really needing some words of advice.
I had my TVH October 7th. 3 weeks ago. The Dr. decided to let me keep my ovaries since they looked great and with my age, 35, she didn't want to take them unless necessary.
My surgery lasted 35 mins. BP dropped 61/35 while in surgery and again 70/48 after given pain meds. So with that being said, I have not been able to take and pain meds except for Advil or Tylenol.
I hardly had any bleeding or spotting of any kind.
Today, I am just HURTING. It feels more like a really bad bruise feeling.
I had my 1st post op appt last week and I expressed that I am having pain where my ovaries are and was told that my ovaries have sutures and that the nerves are waking up. That's why the sharp, quick twinges. She did a pelvic exam at that time and I am wondering if that may be causing me this pain (a week later).
I still have the pain near my ovaries and now this new bruise feeling. Anybody know what I am expressing?
Please someone tell me this will go away. I don't notice it as much in the morning, by night time I can hardly move.
Sorry for such a long post.
Sincerely,
Jen

Re: 3 weeks out and still HURT

I had my surgury years back and I remember hurting for a while as well. But it will get better...and I got to keep my OV as well. I hurt for about a month but it seems like an eturnity. Keep moving around the less activity the longer the recovery. But don't over do it. That is all I can say. Good luck and things will get better.

Re: 3 weeks out and still HURT

Hi I had my surgery on Oct. 5th, I was also able to keep my ovaries & like you I am 35 yrs old.
I too have experienced more pain than I expected post op.
I had 3 previous C-sections and recovered fairly quickly from those, so this has been quite a shock to me that Tomorrow I am 4 weeks out and Still in pain (and extremely tired!). I do not take any type of pain medications ( I am a firm believer of Mind over Matter) so that being said that might be a part of my problem LOL. I am just thinking maybe our age has a little to do with our pain and recovery time.
I just wanted to let you know you are not alone!!! I hope things get better for you soon.

Thank you Monkeys, I hope you start to feeling better soon. Are you still taking it easy? I haven't really been tired which I was expecting.

Re: 3 weeks out and still HURT

Hi I had my TVH the day before you - I get little prickly feelings too. But they go away if I rest for a bit.

Re: 3 weeks out and still HURT

No I start back on Monday - but my specialist recommended another 2 weeks. I feel great at the moment - just get tired and pain is much less than before I had TVH.

Re: 3 weeks out and still HURT

My dr recommended another week for me, suppose to start Monday too. My dr. just recommended that I stay at home one more week. Feeling really bruised and just showering tires me. Are you taking another 2 weeks?

Re: 3 weeks out and still HURT

no I'm just going to muddle through - I just feel tired sometimes - so fingers crossed doing something rather than just resting will give more energy.
