uti before surgery?

I am freaking out here, please help... Is it possible they cancel my surgery because of a uti?? I think I'm getting one.

It was a pleasure running into you at the hospital, and you got done before they all left for lunch, I stayed over 5 hours! Anyhow, they should have done a urinalysis today at your pre-op and your DR will have the results tomorrow. Call and see if there were any abnormal findings. Also, if you think that you are getting a UTI because of frequency and not burning, it could just be nerves. I don't know if they'll cancel it, but you have a couple of days to try antibiotics if the urinalysis shows anything, and I am sure you don't want them to put a catheter where it already hurts! Don't worry, it'll all be done soon and call your DR in the morning!

If you believe you are getting a UTI call your dr.so they can run a urine test and start you on anti biotics if needed.

I had a uti pre op 5 days and they bombarded it with meds. Surgery went as planned. So if you suspect it, have a test for the most time to treat it.

I had one the day before surgery. It was a mild one (my first one no less...go figure). My DR just gave me antibiotics and went ahead with the surgery. I did have bladder spasms when I woke up from the anethesia. I'm not trying to make you nervous but I think those hurt worse than the pain form the actual surgery. I'm not sure if I had them because of the UTI or because I had a TVH after having 3 c-sections (it often makes the uterus stick to your bladder so removing the uterus is sometimes difficult). I would ask your DR if it will make a difference in your recovery.
