need advice re: Schedule

Hi I'm new to this site, but have a feeling I may be using it quite often. The support looks wonderful! I was in the ER three and a half weeks ago due to prolonged heavy bleeding, (six weeks-thought it was just menapause, I'll be 50 in June) well I ended up needing two units of blood and met my new ob/gyn, since I had been going to my PCD for the last few years for pap smears. So I really liked him and met with him in his office after the weekend. We talked about hysterectomy and I had pretty much made up my mind that I'd go through with it. I'm on Progesterone now and has stopped bleeding, but have nausea, night sweats, cramping on it. Then saw him the next week to decide what to do, but my biopsy from the ER had come back hyperplasia cells and inconclusive, so he recommed a d&c to make sure no cancer, then I could go and have hysterectomy. My problem and question is.....it's been almost a month and have not gotten anywhere whith his scheduler. She said she's trying to confirm the procedure with him but keeps putting me off and now tells me he's booked into June. Am I being to impatient or does it take that long to schedule a D&C? Should I call his office where I see him and let him know what is going on(different site schedules surgery) Thanks for listening

Re: need advice re: Schedule

Hi I would call his office and let them know what is going on. He may not have any openings until June, but he may want to squeeze you in to do the biopsy on you. This will ease your mind as well, so you don't have to worry about when your surgery date. If you have to wait until June you could have them schedule a date for you, and ask to be put on the cancelation list....you may be able to get in sooner that way. Well good luck with all of this!!! This site has helped me so much I am sure you will love it too. : )

Re: need advice re: Schedule

Wishst31,

Yes, I would try to get in touch with the doctor himself, since you are being put off by his scheduler. If you do not get anywhere with that, then I would maybe look for another doctor. With the dx that you were given, I would think your gyn would want to schedule a D&C right away to make sure what is going on. That is a long time to be bleeding. Sorry you are have all of these problems.

This is a very good site and has a lot of support and information.
