When do the hot flashes begin?
I had my LSH a week ago, I can't be on any estrogen, and so far not a hot flash. When did you all start having them? Not that I want one, but I thought by now, I would start having some symptoms....

When do the hot flashes begin?
Hi Saultp
This is very much an individual thing. Estrogen is stored in your body and everyone is different in how quickly that store is depleted. I've seen some women not experience them for weeks. I hope you'll be one of the lucky ones.
I kept my ovaries and woke up having terrible hot flashes just from the shock of surgery, so consider yourself blessed. I hope it continues to go well for you.
's, Rita

When do the hot flashes begin?
Hey there!
I was six weeks post op on Monday. So far, not a single hot flash. In fact, I acutally had AWFUL night sweats before my surgery, and have had NONE for the last 4 weeks (had some bad ones the first two weeks postop)!!
The only real "menopausal" symptom I've felt is fatigue. I have no energy and want to sleep all the time. Even the moodiness hasn't been bad........although I have been taking anti anxiety meds, which probably helps.
Only time will tell! Good Luck!!
Christine

When do the hot flashes begin?
Susan,
I'm 3 months out and still haven't had a hot flash. My gyn says I might never have them.. it's all so individual.
It's very possible that I will not be able to take HRT (my cancer was fed by estrogen)..... so I'm thankful that things are going well.

When do the hot flashes begin?
I had 3 the week after surgery, then none until 6 weeks out. From week 6 on, it's been about 3 every 24 hours, but since this weekend, they seem to be subsiding in number and intensity. I wouldn't call them 'hot flashes'. For me, they're about 5-10 minutes of uncomfortable warmth (like drinking hot coffee when it's 90 degrees outside).
