Is this real?

Is anybody else an emotional mess? Or do you keep wondering why you had to go through this or feel bad about yourself now or is that just me?

Re: Is this real?

I find that I am a mess sometimes, especially when alone. I had no problems after I had a iud put in. Once I took it out, then the cyst came. I have pain still and I thought it would go away when I had the surgery. I didn't think this would happen to me but, it did. Sigh.. Still trying to deal with it.

Re: Is this real?

I ask "did I really have cancer?" I am glad it is out but I am sad I had to go through this. I am happy it was caught early and then I can start crying. I can't figure out why I should be crying and then I am thanking the powers above for sending me hints to know something was wrong. Then I go back to asking did this really happen to me?

So, yes; I go from being an emotional wreck to having a plain old regular day and it is a true roller coaster ride still.

My emotional balance is out of balance very often since this surgery, but it is comforting to know that I am not alone with these thoughts and feelings.

I hope you get some comfort knowing that you are not alone.

Is this real?

You're not alone, I just had mine done less than a week. Today I have been in a deep depression, especially the circumstances surrounding why I had to have the operation done. It was a life or death do to a ruptured artery in my uterus, all while just having been a loss of pregnancy right before.

Re: Is this real?

My surgery wasn't life or death although until pathology came through I was told that cancer was a possibility.the months before were extremely stressful as my daughter was very poorly and for several weeks didn't even know who we were.after my op I just unravelled and became deeply depressed.I know how hard that rollercoaster of recovery can be but with time, medication, and acceptance of what you've been through you can start to heal again.I am,and am sending hugs that soon you all will be too

You are not alone by any stretch of the imaginatin. I found the post hysterectomy reports forum are excellent for getting info on how others are copn nd whethervi was "abnormal" by how i felt. . It s very very very common, many many of us experienced those feelings. Things get better and quite quickly. Are you a member of your recovery report group?

Re: Is this real?

My emotions are more messed up and dr told me to expect this until my ovary's wake up.... if they do. I am hoping that the ovary's can handle things, but they have had a lot of issues but i kept both of them. I have been warned that they might have to be taken out later ( im hoping in like 30 years since im 24) but I have another test for my levels at 6 weeks, then 12 then we go to 6 months. my lvls were so off before surgery i was the most horrible person to be around not now. but still go from happy to crying and sobbing over the tiniest things.

Re: Is this real?

The others are right...you certainly aren't alone in those feelings. (((hugs)))

I had my levels tested last week at my 6 week post-op apt because I am a wreck. I still have both ovaries, which I was told after surgery are healthy. But this wreck of emotions is not what I expected. I want to know if it's due to hormone levels being out of whack or a part of recovery that I just have to deal with. I hope to find out this week.

One day at a time. (((hugs)))
