Four-week check today - see you in a year?

My Dr. wanted me to see him at one week, couldnt get
an appointment for 13 days...then I saw him again at 5 weeks, he said unless I have problems or questions I didnt have to come back till my pap in January, I have to have them every year anyway because of the history of cancer in my family.Be sure to call if you have any problems or questions ! Good Luck!

Four-week check today - see you in a year?

I haven't had an appointment yet and don't till 7 week mark. Due to xmas closings and stuff.

I imagine if I had a problem I could get in without a problem and if she does let me off after that I would call with any problems again.

I think your doc sorta forgot to say call if you have a problem but otherwise you are fine.
As for not feeling well then maybe you should call your family doc and talk to him.
Are you still taking meds? Personally I hate the feeling of drugs so stopped 2nd day and just took extra strength tylonol. haven't taken anything since a week except for ibuprofin when needed.

Good luck to you and hope you feel better soon

Thanks everyone for the responses and encouragement. It means so much to me.

I just worry that I may not know if something is wrong.
That's exactly it for me. I feel like at 4 weeks I still have a lot of healing to do. Several of you mentioned seeing your doctor later, 6-8 weeks, and finding out that you needed silver nitrate or had something come up. I worry that I won't know if the stitches ever dissolved properly. I worry about the less obvious things that could be going wrong that I'll never know are a problem.

No. I stopped taking anything a couple of weeks ago. I thought that might be contributing to my nausea. It didn't seem to make a difference though.

I'm not sure if my doctor realizes he is my doctor or whether he thinks I have another OB/GYN and I just came to him for surgeries. I only started seeing him 8 months ago, and I unfortunately needed surgery right off the bat because of huge ovarian cyst. It's not like we started off with an annual or a pregnancy or something where we could build a history. He did two surgeries on me in 6 months, so that's the only history we really have. He did ask me if I was going back to my old OB/GYN, which I found confusing. Why would I go back to a doctor I hadn't seen in 3 years?

Anyway, thanks for all of the advice. If something comes up, I will definitely feel more confident in calling him because you all made me feel like it's okay to check back with him. Thanks for all the support!
