Re: Question about being home.

I was scheduled for LAVH yesterday, end up having to be TAH, and I had to have two units of blood transfused from hemorrhaging . Got out of surgery about 4pm yesterday afternoon, went into surgery @ 9am. I came home at 1pm today, and I've been using the restroom on my own since I made them pull my cath around 9pm last night. It's awkward and you'll definitely want something to help you up from the potty (a chair or a counter), but you will probably be able to do it on your own.

I am wearing a thin cotton skirt and panties, so not much to mess with.

One thing, try to go every half hour or so, I was going every hour in the hospital, when I would feel my bladder was full, and I was peeing 20oz at a time. It was hard to get out of the bed, due to the surgery, and the full bladder didn't help, so if you can make yourself go before your bladder is full, it might also be a bit easier.
