Re: Douching

Most gyns recommend against douching, hysterectomy or no hysterectomy ... the vaginal is self-cleaning.

Re: Douching

Yep, I heard that also: the vagina is a self cleaning oven they say, lol.

But I guess if you want to feel "fresh" you could do maybe a vinegar or baking soda one, or buy some nice summers eve wash, and spray or powder for your panties? I totally understand the needing to feel fresh thing though.

Re: Douching

Trouble is, douching flushes away the vagina's natural moisture as well as destroying the helpful bacteria it needs to prevent yeast infections. Really not a good idea unless it has been medically advised.

Re: Douching

No douching!!! If you have a smell or discharge that's making you want to douche, then tell the dr instead. !!

Re: Douching

My doc also says no douching. I disagreed with him and simply used some warm water in the shower, very gently. Since then, I've had no more of the discharge I was complaining about previously and am much more pleasant to be around.

I'm betting if the doctors had stinky stitches coming out of their nether regions they'd douche with Chanel.

I would hope that they would be smarter than to do that. By the way, the "nothing in the vagina until you're released" rule includes no water - that's why no baths, hot tubs or swimming - and usually we're not released until after the odor has faded and the stitches have disappeared.
