D&C and ablation recommended

Hello Ladies,

My name if Gail. Recently have been having issues with my period. Cycles have become irregular to say the least. This cycle was 51 days, have been bleeding for 45 days.

I have an appointment with a new OBGYN tomorrow afternoon, this is an Urgent appointment. My regular one is currently booked up for four months. My GP has sent over my ultrasound which showed only my uterine lining was on the higher side of normal (15mm) this is after bleeding for three weeks. GP is recommending a D and C and ablation.

If you had these procedues, did it help? Recovery was . . . ?

Re: D&C and ablation recommended

I'd try progesterone after D & C and not do the ablation at this time. You don't give age or if you have children. I don't think you can easily conceive after ablation. Ablation can also mess up future testing for other issues such as pre-cancerous cells. My firends who had ablation only got temporary relief (one to twelve months). I'd try progesterone first.
