Hysterectomy ahead

Hi I am 32 and I am facing a hysterectomy in just 3 wks. I have fiboriod tumors and cycst on my ovaries. The doctor says he is going to leave my ovaries because he doesn't want to put me into menapause and my insurance doesn't cover hrm pills. I am nervous but I can't keep hurting like I do all the time. My doctor said he was going to make an incision but I hope to have a laproscopic instead like he did when he tied my tubes. I just hope that after my surgery I will feel a whole lot better than what I do now. My mom had one done five years ago and she said that it is the best thing she ever did for herself. I know my life will change now but it will totally worth the pain I will go through. Just praying that the doctor will not find anything we are not expecting once he gets in there. Dec. 30 can't get here soon enough for me!!

I think if you are uncomfortable with the doctor or staff that you should switch doctors before you have your surgery. I don't think I would have had a hysterectomy if I didn't trust the doctor, his staff, the hospital staff...etc.

I am 34 and had mine at age 30. This is the best decision I've ever made. I still have one ovary so I don't have any of the hormone mess to deal with. I still get cysts on my ovary but I just take lots of motrin until they rupture. I want to keep my ovary as long as I can. I am unable to take HRT due to congenital heart disease. My hysterectomy surgery was a nightmare but I'm so glad I did it. I had several complications b/c as soon as I got home I threw up and everything tore. That's when they had to go back in and remove my right ovary. It's been 4 years now and I'm doing good. At first I did regret it but after I was back to normal I didn't regret it for a second! It takes time to heal physically and mentally so be patient.

Hysterectomy ahead

I'm 34 and probably should have had it out at 30!

After getting my period at age 12 and having nothing but pain and trouble since I was ready to say goodbye to it.

I'm thankful that I had an unplanned pregnancy at age 18 now. I ended up with two kids by age 22. Everyone was kind of funny about it, but if I hadn't had them then, I probably wouldn't be blessed with children now.

By age 30 I'd had enough of the horrible pain, lengthy, clotty heavy bleeding. I got an ablation last year at age 33 and it did help the bleeding, but the pain became intense.

I feel better than I have in years!

2 options

Well, it sort of seems like there's two options. Get a second opinion so you feel more certain about the ovaries, or you can just go with it, see what happends and maybe be able to just take motrin like the other poster had said.

Take good care of yourself,
